Standard color: red plumage that covers the head and part of the throat. The chest, stomach and back are yellow. Blue covers the primary feathers of the wings and tail.
Personality: Nervous temperament with a strong melodious song, It's nice to see the bird in an aviary with other parakeets.
Known health problems: Feather picking, PBFD, pododermatitis.
Note: Several color mutations exist like lutino and cinnamon. In recent years its become an unusual bird in captivity.
Reproduction: 4-6 eggs, incubation 18 to 22 days.
