Drug description:

It is an antivomitive that also has an effect on intestinal motility.

Indications:

Metoclopramide is used in domestic animals to treat nausea and vomiting.

Contraindications :

Please discuss with a veterinarian or consult the product monograph that accompanies the product for information on contraindications.

Side effects:

The most common side effects in dogs are muscle spasms, aggression as well as hyperactivity or drowsiness. The product may also increase the frequency of urination (urine production) and cause constipation.

The most common side effects in cats are frantic behavior, disorientation and constipation.

Recommended follow-up:

Make sure that the animal's condition improves and that it does not suffer from any side effects.

Interactions with other drugs:

Metoclopramide may interfere with the effectiveness of some other drugs if used at the same time. You can ask your veterinarian which ones.

Please also advise the veterinarian if your pet is already taking any drug(s) before starting treatment with metoclopramide. This will allow him/her to make sure that they are compatible.

Available forms:

Metoclopramide is available in tablets, oral solution and injectable liquid.

Storage:

The product should be stored at room temperature, protected from light.

Warning:

The oral formulation can be administered with or without food.
