Gabrielle’s favourite part of her job is surgical preparation and diagnostics.

Magaly, AHT

Magaly received her animal health technology diploma from the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe in 2015.

Unsure about the field she ultimately wanted to work in, she had several jobs working on a farm, in a shelter and in a small animal clinic before settling in to Hôpital Vétérinaire Richelieu in 2017. As a technician, she has several diverse tasks: anesthesia and surgical preparation, nursing hospitalized patients, filling prescriptions, customer service, running diagnostic like x-rays, analyzing blood and urine samples, etc.

She also manages the hospital’s laboratory, inventory and social media. Her favourite part of the job is diagnosing and following animals over time that have been hospitalized or have a chronic disease.

She is more of a dog person, but shares her home with a domestic cat, Finn, and a ferret, Wesley.
