Prevention
Prevention is the cornerstone of your pet's healthcare. Your pet must be physically active and eat a quality balanced diet to be in good shape. When an animal is overweight, he can develop a variety of health problems associated with this condition. That is why we can design a weight loss program for him. Monitoring is done through weekly visits to ensure your pet's safety.
We recommend regular vaccinations adapted to his every activities. An annual exam is essential because it allows us to detect diseases at an early stage and prevent their developement.
Heartworm prevention for dogs and cats that go outdoors is necessary because dirofilariose is transmitted by mosquitoes and can cause serious heart problems and can even lead to death.
We recommend blood work for geriatric pets (over 6 years) so that we may detect diseases associated with aging such as kidney failure, liver failure, thyroidism, diabetes, anemia as well as other diseases.
Feel free to come and meet our veterinarians and animal health technicians whom may answer all of your questions concerning the well being of your pet.

Intensive care
Our hospital provides intensive care to patients whose condition is considered critical. This unit is equipped with cutting-edge equipement to monitor your pet's condition and respond immediately to his needs. This unit is located in the hub of the hospital so there is always staff close by for patients requiring this level of care. Included are cardiac monitors, defribrillators, fluid therapy pumps, the laboratory, incubators, and oxygen cages.
Animals suffering from various problems such as cardiac and respiratory distress, severe dehydration, severe anemia, pancreatitis, kidney failure, trauma, and certain postoperative patients are admitted.
Contagious care
We have a unit specifically dedicated to contagious animals. In this section of the hospital, we have cages that are isolated and have a negative aspiration ventilation, combined with our strict maintenance procedures, prevent the risks of contaminating our other patients. Treatment of contagious cases are conducted in a room designed for this purpose.
Blood bank
Blood transfusions are sometimes necessary in veterinary medecine to save an animal's life. That is why we have at our disposal cat and dog whole blood and plasma in our reserves. Indications for use are numerous, for example, bleeding, autoimmune anemia, certain intoxications, pancreatitis, coagulation factor deficiencies and even certain cancers.
The blood supply is provided by our two large cat donors Plaquette and Globule. They live on the 2nd floor of the hospital, in our administrative offices. The canine blood supply is provided by our employees' dogs, so that we may control the quality of the blood we administer.
Physiotherapy (hydrotherapy, treadmill, therapeutic K-laser)
We now have a physiotherapy department. Physiotherapy is beneficial for decreasing recovery time after orthopedic surgery and also increases the surgery's success. It's effective in the treatment of arthritis and other joint disorders. Physiotherapy can help improve the quality of life of your companion, without the use of chemical treatment and having any harmful side-effects.
Our therapeutic water treadmill bath (Aquapaws-Inferno Co.) is computer controlled and effectively controls your pet's exercise. Exercising in water greatly reduces the impact on the joints and increases muscle mass compared to conventional exercise. This bath is equipped with resistance jets so that you may reach higher levels of recovery. In some cases, we will use the same baththerapy for weight loss cases. In order to provide this service, we sent one of our veterinarians to the University of Tennesse in the United States for specific training in physiotherapy.
To optimize surgical outcomes, we are also equipped with the K-Laser therapeutic laser. This is the perfect complement to any orthopedic treatment. It treats arthritic pain, postoperative pain and much more. Again, without medication. Only a few sessions of a few minutes for pain relief. Arthritis, a granuloma due to licking, orthopedic postoperative follow-ups, and localised pain medical treatment are indicated for physiotherapy and therapeutic laser treatment. The biggest advantage of the K-Laser is there are no side-effects, no vomitting and gastric ulcers, no effects on the liver and kidneys, like ther would be with anti-inflammatory drugs. It's perfect for pets with a gastrointestinal sensitivity, kidney or liver failure, and for older animals.
