Ultrasound

Our hospitals are also equipped with ultrasound machines. This diagnostic tool, which doesn't usually require that the animal be anesthetized, enables the examination of internal organs but without causing any pain to patients. It's not dangerous and it's not associated with any side effects either.

Ultrasound evaluations are useful in many situations. Be it to evaluate the organs' architecture, to diagnose pregnancy, to detect foreign bodies stuck in the digestive track or to detect abdominal masses, to determine the cause of heart murmurs, to collect urine ou liquid in the abdomen or around the lungs for diagnostic and therapeutics purposes, for guidance when biopsies are taken, to visualise bladder or kidney stones, etc.
